Plants under stress rarely show obvious symptoms right away — by the time leaves are visibly yellowing or a shrub looks thin, the underlying problem has often been building for weeks. Plant health care is about catching that earlier, treating the actual cause rather than just the visible symptom, and knowing when a plant has passed the point where treatment makes more sense than replacement.

What Ongoing Plant Care Involves

Organic Pesticide Programs

Pest pressure varies by season and by plant type, so treatment is timed and targeted rather than applied on a blanket schedule. Organic options are generally preferred where they’re effective, since they’re gentler on beneficial insects and the wider garden ecosystem than broad-spectrum alternatives.

Fungicide Injections

Some fungal issues, especially in trees, are best addressed by injecting treatment directly into the trunk rather than spraying foliage, since it delivers the treatment systemically and avoids the drift and runoff that surface spraying involves. This is usually reserved for cases where the problem is established enough that surface treatment alone wouldn’t reach it.

Root Checking

A lot of plant stress that shows up above ground actually starts below it — compacted soil, root rot from poor drainage, or root damage from nearby construction. Checking root health directly is often what reveals the real cause behind a plant that isn’t responding to more obvious treatments.

Deciding What to Treat vs. Replace

Not every struggling plant is worth saving — a plant with extensive root damage or advanced disease can sometimes cost more in ongoing treatment than it would to simply replace it. Part of the job is making that call honestly rather than defaulting to endless treatment on something unlikely to recover.

Quick Foliage Replacement

Where a plant has declined past saving, replacing it promptly — matched to the same growing conditions and matched visually to what’s around it — keeps a gap from sitting empty and disrupting the rest of the planting design.

Why Early Diagnosis Matters Most

Most plant health problems are far cheaper and easier to treat when caught early, before they’ve spread to nearby plants or progressed past the point of recovery. Regular monitoring, rather than waiting for obvious visible decline, is what keeps a garden’s overall plant health manageable instead of turning into a cycle of emergency treatments and replacements.

Maintenance & Care

Our Process

1

Consultation & Site Visit

We walk the property with you, talk through how you use the space day to day, and note sun, drainage, and soil conditions that will shape the plan.

2

Concept & Layout

We sketch a layout that fits the site's realities and your style preferences, balancing planting beds, hardscape, and open space.

3

Detailed Plan

The concept becomes a full plan — plant selections, materials, and measurements — so there's a clear reference before any work starts on site.

4

Review & Handoff

We walk through the finished plan together, make any adjustments, and hand it off ready for installation.
